BOOGIE WOOGIE - REGULATIONS

1.INTRODUCTION.

1.1 In all items not regulated separately in the following, the appropriate conditions stipulated by the WRRC shall be applicable.

2.AGE GROUPS.

  • 2.1 BOOGIE-JUNIORS:In the year of the event the participants must not be older than the age of 17.
  • 2.2 BOOGIE-MAIN CLASS:In the year of the event the participants must be older than the age of 14.
  • 2.3BOOGIE-SENIORS:In the year of the event one partner must be older than the age of 35, the counterpart must become older than the age of 40.
  • 2.4 A couple may not start in several age groups simultaneously. It is not possible to change age groups several times.

3.JUDGING

3.1 Special WRRC Boogie Judge Licences are issued pursuant to § 9 (1) of the WRRC Regulations.

3.2 special marking sheet for single couples and for formations is available.

3.3 Single couples

Three sections shall be judged:

  • 3.3.1 Music interpretation 0 -10 points
  • 3.3.2 Dance figures led, Dancing performance 0 - 10 points
  • 3.3.3 Foot techniques 0 - 10 points
  • Maximum number of points 30 points
  • 3.3.4. No deductions
  • 3.3.5. The slow an fast final round are each judged immediately upon their termination according to open ranks.
  • 3.3.6 To determine the final result, the line up of the foot round determined according to the skating system will be added to the judgement of the fast round and than assessed according to the skating system.

3.4 The interpretation, that means the spontaneous realisation of music in dancing, shall be decisive. In addition to the Single-Double- or Tripletime-basic step,which is primarily danced flat, free variations are permissible, if they match the music. All figures and dance elements are led by visual, hand or body contact. No acrobatics shall be danced. Acrobatic elements are judged as dance figures.

3.5 The clothing should match the music and dance.

3.6 Formations 4 sections shall be judged.

  • 3.6.1 Synchronisation / harmony; leg work, arms, circumference of turns, lines, poise, body, transitions, bars/rhythm 0-30 points
  • 3.6.2 Dance figures, degree of difficulty, variety, wealth of figures, artistic presentation 0 - 30 points
  • 3.6.3 Choreography, ideas, lines, music interpretation, image, distribution in space 0 - 30 points.
  • 3.6.4 Artistic performance, elegance, flair, entrance/exit, clothing 0 - 10 points
  • Maximum number of points 100 points
  • 3.6.5 Deductions 1 point per error (bar, rhythm)

4.MODALITIES FOR PARTICIPATION AND DANCING

4.1 DANCING MODALITIES

  • 4.1.1 The music is exclusively provided by the Organizer, whereby only the titles approved by the WRRC Executive Board may be used. (Living-Music-Selection-List)
  • 4.1.2 Preliminary, runners-up qualification and quarter-final rounds a maximum of 3 couples on the dance floor. Semi-final rounds: a maximum of 2 couples on the dance floor. Duration 1’30 min. 48 - 52 bars/min.
  • 4.1.3. Final rounds: Couples shall dance individually. 2 performances: Slow 1’30 min. 28 - 32 bars/min
  • Fast 1’30 min. 48 - 52 bars/min.
  • 4.1.4 Boogie Juniors only dance the fast final round.
  • 4.1.5. The dance shall always end with the music.

5. BOOGIE-FORMATIONS

5.1 One formation shall consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 couples.

5.2 MODALITIES FOR PARTICIPATION AND DANCING FORMATIONS.

  • 5.2.1 MODALITIES FOR DANCING
  • 5.2.1.1 Duration and speed of own music: 3 – 4’30 min. All music interruptions included. No speed limit.
